Leisure Homes - Testimonials

Linda and Dennis Plumb

At last here is our story for your newsletter. Sorry it's late, it is manic here at the
moment. Hope you are all well. I feel perhaps it's a little long but I've tried to cover everything that ordinary people like us want to know. Love Lin and Den x

"For years Dennis and I had dreamed, like many others, of owning our own place in France. I had been attending french lessons for longer than I care to remember and we spent many wonderful holidays touring the different regions across France. We loved the country and the style of life and of course the french wine.!

When the time presented itself we found that we were having cold feet. The thought of maintenance, taxes, rates etc. especially when the recession hit was rather daunting. For some reason, I decided to go on line and look at mobile homes in France. We were struck by Parc Mayenne immediately. The beauty and peace of the parc could be seen by the pictures that came up on screen. After contacting the number shown, and being told there was soon to be an open day,we arranged to visit taking along our friends that we often holiday with in France We stayed at a small hotel in the vicinity.

We were a little apprehensive as we didn't want a sales pitch and a hard sell. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the owner Vince, managers Simon and Clare, and Steve, Marg and Stella who can supply the mobile home of your choice. We listened to Vince's dream for this beautiful expanse of land. He is a landscape gardener and is very concious of the environment. He wanted a parc that was aimed more as a retreat and not the archetypal site with slides, etc. That's not to say children and families aren't welcomed. There is a beautiful swimming pool, games room and fishing on site, with a promise of a future restaurant and shop.

We enjoyed a tour around and were then left to look at our own leisure. We were in awe of the whole ethos of the place. Dennis and I felt that we needed to think about everything that we had discussed and found. We are not impulsive people and like to take our time. Everyone was so kind, they understood our need to take time out and infact encouraged it. They too, wanted to know that the right type of people that would respect their dreams for the place would eventually choose Parc Mayenne.

After much discussion and advice from our friends too over dinner that evening,we all decided to visit the next day to once again look over the parc and discuss aspects regarding maintenance, contracts and ground rent as well as the all important buying of a mobile home.

This was where Steve, Marg and Stella came to the fore. They are a family who are agents with all the popular mobile home manufacturers. They purchase english mobile homes, supplied with european specifications. Steve gave us complimentary tickets to visit the mobile home show at Beaulieu in order to see what was on offer. However we had already spotted a suitable one on site that was among a few on show. The style suited us perfectly. Steve supplies, transports and fully installs and commissions a home of your choice as a total package. His knowledge is extensive and he genuinely cares about the prospective client's individual requirements. They were all helpful and friendly without being pushy.

We felt somehow it was right for us. We chose a river view plot and once home sent a deposit. After only a few months our home was installed on site with decking. We have now visited throughout three of the seasons and each time we fall more and more in love with the place. We have beautfiul views, lovely surroundings and peace and tranquility. We have made good friends with like-minded people and visit the bar open on Friday evenings just for the social side.

When we are at home in England we think of our second home in France and can't wait to return. We have our home without all the hassle and taxes incurred in buying a house. The parc is gated and secure with Simon, Clare and their little boy Mikey on site who offer a maintenance package including gardening cleaning, fitting of decking and winterization if desired. There are places to visit, pretty villages and towns that take such pride in their surroundings, and lovely restaurants nearby. We have been invited as a group to a mayoral garden party where everyone was so friendly and the mayor insisted on buying us all champagne. A good time was had by all and we are really beginning to feel we belong. There is something good about being familiar with your area.

Dennis enjoys fishing, a hobby not tried since childhood. I get chance to read and sunbathe and enjoy the surroundings. I love the fact that I have so little housework to do, that's not to say our home is small. We have plenty of space, a plumbed-in washing machine and even a dryer in our shed both of which we transported over in and on our shogun!! We have everthing we need on tap. However there is a laundry on site if preferred.

Our daughter, husband and two of our grandsons have thoroughly enjoyed a holiday with us, as have two close friends. We can't wait for our son and family to join us soon too.

We decided to write this piece because if there are others like us out there who have a similar dream and visit Steve's website, I hope we may have gone someway to showing by example that it is possible. We have a chinese plaque in our home that reads "Don't dream your life, live your dreams." We are endeavoring to do just that."

Peter and Odette from Jersey have a Willerby holiday home at Bel Air

We started to think about purchasing a mobile home in France last year, browsing the internet at first. That’s when we came across Leisure Home Sales France, a family run company, and furthered our enquiry with a phone call.

We liked the look of the Bel Air camp site and made our first visit to view a Luxury Villa in April. We were so impressed with the quality of the mobile and the camp site.

Right from the start Steve came across as genuine and very helpful, with sound advise with regards to the benefits of renting while we were not using it ourselves.

Knowing we were in good hands the decision to go ahead with our purchase was easy Now, LHSF handle all our booking. We receive a friendly, professionaland proficient service, from Steve and family to Mo & Jo on site. And we have had two holidays this year. Fab.

Mr and Mrs McBride have a Willerby Vogue at Parc Mayenne

Buying a mobile home at Parc Mayenne has been a very low-stress experience. Once we had selected our home, Leisure Home Sales France took over every detail; all we had to do was turn up and move in. We have been to Parc Mayenne four times in the last 6 months and cannot wait to go back again soon. It has surpassed all our expectations.

Martin and Karen Price, Scarborough, Holiday Home at Parc Mayenne

We became owners of an Atlas Expression luxury holiday home at Parc Mayenne in 2008, after meeting Steve and Stella at an exhibition.

This was the first time we had considered a purchase of this kind and the help and advice offered by Steve made the whole process worry-free. He’s more than a sales agent – he’s someone who genuinely cares about the well-being of his customers.

Parc Mayenne is a wonderful location and we have enjoyed every visit so far and are looking forward to many more.

Jim, Tina & Hadleigh Luckham, Atlas Expression at Parc Mayenne

“Everyone has their own reasons and expectations for owning a home abroad, we wanted easy access to France from our home in Dorset. Parc Mayenne was ideally situated for us with ferries from Poole, Weymouth and Portsmouth within easy reach. So off we went in February ‘08 to an open weekend and immediately felt that we had found somewhere special, the location was idyllic with the beautifully kept parc going down to the river, I could just imagine my 13 year old son having a great time fishing, exploring the woods and flying his kite in front of our Leisure home whilst my wife and I sat on the deck with a nice bottle of wine.

We decided there and then, Steve, Marg and Stella from Leisure Home Sales France, along with Vince, Parc Mayenne’s owner were so helpful in explaining and recommending the type of home and accessories we would need to give us the all year round use. There was no pressure to buy in fact we were left to wander and make up our own minds. Within 8 weeks the Leisure Home was delivered and installed, what could be easier? Steve kept us informed of progress throughout. What a nice change to have someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about there business!

Well we’ve had 5 weeks so far in our home and have not been disappointed, Parc Mayenne is all, and more than we expected, it’s quiet, the air is so clean and it’s really relaxing. We have made a lot of new friends and Friday nights in the Kingfisher bar is good fun. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with fantastic towns and medieval chateaus, good bars and restaurants etc. Clare and Simon, Parc Mayenne’s managers are really helpful in every way and make sure everything is looked after and secure, they are certainly an asset to the Parc.

To sum everything up, We made the right choice and really enjoy it!”

Mr and Mrs David Harrison of Jersey – 3-bedroom Willerby Villa at Domaine de Bel Air

“Living in Jersey we looked slightly further away from St Malo and Dinan to avoid meeting Channel Islanders on a daily basis, Bel Air is only a three hour leisurely drive from St Malo with very good boat schedules.

We researched the web and found Benodet Breaks at Bel Air. We soon arranged a site visit and were not disappointed. We arrived on a beautiful sunny day and saw first hand the Bel Air Country Park which our grandchildren have grown to love and look forward to each visit. The park has play areas to delight all ages, the added bonus is that the site is only 10 minutes away from some superb beaches and 20 minutes from Quimper city.

Mo and Jo, the on site representatives showed us a Willerby Villa, a three bedroom home and two bathrooms. Although we looked at other homes and another site, our choice was made and we have no regrets on making a great selection, and have now kitted it out with our own personal items, it is very much home from home.
.
All our on site needs are catered for by Benodet Breaks, and in a short space of time we have made friends with many owners from all over the UK. We are now looking forward to next May and opening up for the new season.

Although trying to keep this place a secret I have passed on my praise to several Jersey contacts recommending Benodet Breaks to them”.

The Collins Family, Cornwall. 3 bedroom Willlerby Villa and an Atlas Tempo at Port de Plaisance, Benodet

"After holidaying with Benodet Breaks at Port De Plaisance for several years, we jumped at the chance of buying a holiday home in this popular resort. Steve and Marg did everything for us, from expert advice about which model to buy to arranging transport and setting it up on a lovely plot with decking – the whole process was made so easy for us and Steve and Marg now rent it for us when we don’t use it.

We were so pleased with their services and rental income that last year we decided to buy another holiday home at the same site, solely as a rental unit and yet again it was a very painless, we trust them implicitly. They are truly a lovely family and work so hard to enable everyone enjoy their time in France. Benodet is a beautiful place and Port De Plaisance is a campsite with something for everyone, the new indoor pool complex is brilliant. Happy Holidaying!

Mr and Mrs Roche, Glasgow

"As part of our retirement planning we had considered buying a holiday home in France for several years. We contacted Steve and Marg four years ago and we were so impressed with their service and friendliness that we purchased a Willerby Villa, both for our own use and to rent, in just one phone call.

We now make good use of it ourselves in the low-season and gain a good rental income in the peak season. This was one of the best decisions we have ever made!”

My family and i were absolutely delighted with the campsite and accommodation at Bel Air. Everything was so easy we just totally relaxed and enjoyed the fabulous campsite and all its great facilities on our first visit. Everyone was so helpful, we soon felt right at home.
